NRD-BUS / PLC / Real-time fieldbus

EtherCAT & PROFINET Fieldbus Slip Rings

Define a fieldbus rotary interface around the actual PLC cycle, topology and servo drive environment. EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP need distinct system acceptance criteria.

ENGINEERING REVIEW

PLC / Real-time fieldbus: what determines fit?

  • Cycle time, jitter and working-counter checks
  • Separated servo power and data routing
  • Connector coding matched to the selected protocol

PROFIBUS, CANopen and RS485 use different physical layers from Ethernet. PROFINET IRT performance or certification must be established for the complete configuration.

Bring these inputs to the RFQ

  • PLC, drive and network device models
  • Cycle time, node count and topology
  • Servo current, grounding and cable routing

For plc electrical engineers and robot positioner builders.

POWER + DATA / EMC REVIEW

Specify how the shield crosses the rotation.

NRD configuration review

  • Define a separated power / data path and shield termination.
  • Agree protocol-specific impedance and channel test criteria.
  • Test while rotating with servo power energized.

Unspecified rotary interface risks

  • Continuity checks can miss high-frequency discontinuities.
  • Uncontrolled pair routing can increase coupling.
  • Static cable tests can miss speed- or load-related errors.

Engineering comparison of test scope; no unmeasured numeric crosstalk or packet-loss result is implied.

CONFIGURE / NRD-BUS
